What's actually risky about Hunterdon roads
We get asked a lot about which NJ ZIPs rate the worst. Honest answer for Hunterdon: rural roads with slow speeds rate well — it's not where the big claims happen. Risk concentrates in three places:
- Route 78 commuting corridors — if your trucks travel 78 east of Annandale daily, that's where most major-injury claims originate.
- Route 202/31 intersection traffic around Flemington and Ringoes — standard rear-end claim country, especially at rush hour.
- Lambertville/Stockton crossings into PA — the bridge crossings expose interstate-tier risk, which some NJ-only carriers won't write happily.
